What it does
Declare a goal — "Raise $500k by December" — and Nautis's AI decomposes it into an ordered, cross-module execution plan you review, approve, and run. As it runs, Nautis turns the steps into real work: a Task Board with tasks, document requests, metric targets, and agent actions. Steps that touch the outside world always pause for your approval first.
Who can use it
Read permission to view; create to declare outcomes; update to generate plans, edit, start, approve steps, or abandon.
Monthly creation cap (default 20 outcomes). AI plan generation uses AI credits.
How to get here
From the sidebar, open Strategy & Planning and click Outcome Workflows.
Step-by-step: declare an outcome
Click New outcome.
In Declare an outcome, fill in: Template (Raise a funding round / Custom goal), Goal (required), Details, Target (a number), Unit (e.g. USD), Deadline.
Click Create outcome. It starts as a Draft — nothing runs yet.
Step-by-step: generate and review the plan
Open the draft and click Generate plan (uses AI credits). You get a numbered plan, usually 5–9 steps.
Step types: Task Board (creates the execution board), Task, Document (flags a required doc), Metric (sets a target), Agent (queues an AI drafting action), Notify, Checkpoint (always pauses for your review). External actions carry a Needs approval badge.
Click Re-plan for a fresh plan, or edit it yourself.
Step-by-step: edit the plan
Before starting, click Edit plan: change titles, descriptions, step types, and whether each step Runs automatically or Needs my approval; reorder, remove, or Add step; then Save plan. Plans lock once running.
Step-by-step: start and run
Click Approve & start.
Steps run in order with statuses: Pending, Running, Awaiting approval, Done, Skipped, Failed.
When a step needs you, an amber banner appears. Click Approve (or Mark reviewed & continue on a checkpoint), or Skip to pass over it.
Approvals also appear in the Approval Center (Chief of Staff → Approvals tab).
When every step is done or skipped, the outcome is Completed. The work lives on the outcome's Task Board — use the Task Board button or View on Task Board links.
Step-by-step: the list page
Filters: All outcomes, Needs approval, In progress, Plan ready, Drafts, Completed, Archived — each with live counts. Cards show status, "n to approve" badges, deadline hints, and progress bars.
Step-by-step: abandon or delete
Abandon (running/paused): stops further steps; created Task Boards and tasks are kept.
Delete (before starting): removes the outcome and plan permanently; created boards survive.
Tips & limits
A completed step means its work is set up on your Task Board — not that the goal is achieved. Finish the actual work on the board.
Only plan generation and agent drafting use AI credits.
If credits run out during plan generation, the outcome returns to Draft safely; mid-run, the drafting step is skipped and the workflow continues.
FAQ
Does the AI do the work for me?
It sets the work up — board, tasks, document requests, metric targets, drafts. Executing the underlying work is still yours.
Will it send anything without asking?
No. Anything external is approval-gated; checkpoints always pause for review.
What if a step fails?
It's marked Failed with the error shown, but the workflow keeps going with the remaining steps.
Can I change a running plan?
No — plans lock at start. Abandon (work is kept) and declare a fresh outcome, or approve/skip through remaining steps.
Why can't I click Approve & start?
The plan needs at least one step — generate or add steps first.
