What it does

Nautis SWOT Analysis is a single, always-on canvas where you capture your Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. You can let AI build a first draft from your startup profile and pitch deck, look at the data in charts, build TOWS strategies, run scenarios, save snapshots, and print or export the result.

Who can use it

  • Any teammate whose role has the SWOT Analysis permission enabled.

  • The SWOT Analysis module must be turned on for your organization.

  • Each organization has one SWOT Analysis — everyone in the org works on the same canvas.

  • AI generation needs a complete startup profile and a validated pitch deck attached to it.

How to get here

From the sidebar, open Strategy & Planning and click SWOT Analysis.

Step-by-step: add items to a quadrant

  1. Pick the quadrant.

  2. Click Add New Strength (or Weakness / Opportunity / Threat).

  3. Type a short description.

  4. Pick a Priority — Low, Medium, or High.

  5. Click to save.

Step-by-step: reorder, edit and delete items

  • Drag to reorder via the handle on the left of any item.

  • Open details by clicking the item card.

  • Delete via the trash icon (with confirm). Permanent.

Step-by-step: use AI to generate the whole SWOT

  1. Click Generate with AI at the top.

  2. If greyed out, hover for missing prerequisites.

  3. If items exist, Nautis asks to confirm. Replace All wipes everything (no undo — save a snapshot first).

  4. Wait while AI writes the four quadrants.

Step-by-step: switch views (tabs)

  • SWOT Matrix — the 2x2 grid.

  • Analytics — counts, distribution chart, impact vs likelihood plot, Analysis Health.

  • TOWS Matrix — pair items across quadrants for strategies.

  • Scenarios — toggle items on/off to simulate.

  • Snapshots — version history.

  • Investor Brief — AI summary.

  • Challenge — AI critique pushing back on assumptions.

Step-by-step: build a TOWS strategy

  1. Open TOWS Matrix.

  2. Pick a pairing (e.g., Opportunity + Strength).

  3. Create a new TOWS strategy with a short description.

Step-by-step: save a snapshot and restore later

  1. Open the Snapshots tab.

  2. Click the create-snapshot button.

  3. Nautis names it with date/time.

  4. To roll back, find the snapshot and restore.

Step-by-step: clear everything

Click the small red trash icon in the top toolbar. Confirm. Wipes everything in one go — save a snapshot first if there's anything worth keeping.

Step-by-step: add action plans to an item

  1. In the item side panel, find Action Plans.

  2. Add a short action.

  3. Tick off as done. Counted in Analytics.

Step-by-step: print or export

Open the print view; format your SWOT into a clean report, then use your browser's Print dialog. Save as PDF from there.

Tips & limits

  • Color-coded: green Strengths, red Weaknesses, blue Opportunities, amber Threats.

  • Analysis Health combines completion rate, action plans, and high-priority items.

  • Snapshots are cheap — use often before big changes.

  • AI generation replaces everything — snapshots are your safety net.

  • Edits sync to the database immediately.

FAQ

Why is the Generate with AI button greyed out?

Hover for the unmet requirements — usually an incomplete startup profile or no validated pitch deck.

Will using AI delete what I've already added?

Yes. Save a snapshot first.

How many SWOTs can my organization have?

One. Everyone shares the same SWOT. Use Snapshots for history.

Can I share a single quadrant's items externally?

Not directly. Use the print view for a polished report.

What's the difference between SWOT and TOWS?

SWOT is the list of factors. TOWS is the strategy layer pairing them together.
