What it does
The glossary is your reference for startup terminology. Look up the meaning of any word you keep running into — from funding stages to legal terms — with definitions, pronunciation, etymology, examples, and links to related terms.
Who can use it
Anyone with read access to the Glossary module. The glossary is read-only — the term list is curated centrally.
How to get here
From the sidebar, open Resources & Learning and click Glossary.
Step-by-step: browsing terms
Terms grouped alphabetically — every letter with at least one term gets a section.
Section heading shows letter and term count.
Use the A-Z bar at top to jump. Letters with no terms are dimmed.
Term cards show term, category tag, two-line preview.
Step-by-step: searching for a term
Type in Search terms….
List switches to N result(s) mode.
x inside box clears search.
No match → No Results Found with Clear Search button.
Step-by-step: filtering by category
Click a category name. Term list narrows.
Count shows total per category.
All Categories removes filter.
Searching auto-clears category for broadest results.
Step-by-step: viewing a definition
Click any term card. Dialog opens.
Header: term, category tag, pronunciation in
/slashes/.Click speaker icon to hear it spoken (browser voice synthesis).
Body includes: Definition, Etymology, Examples, Related Terms (clickable to jump).
Close: click outside or Esc.
Tips & limits
Category dots and colored borders show area at a glance.
Related-term cards work like links.
Search matches term and definition.
Pronunciation uses browser voice; check system volume.
FAQ
Can I add my own terms?
No — curated by Nautis team. Contact support for missing or wrong terms.
Why are some letters greyed out?
No terms for that letter, or none in the active category filter.
Pronunciation button does nothing.
Browser speech synthesis API. Some browsers/OSs disable by default. Check sound permissions.
Can I share a link to a specific term?
Term opens in a dialog so URL doesn't change. Ask the recipient to open glossary and search.
Is the glossary the same for every organization?
Yes — global to Nautis. Your filters and searches are only on your screen.
